My Honest Review:

PART 1 NuFACE – Mini Mini Facial Toning Device

Summary: Wow, wow, wow!! I absolutely love this and I’ve only been using it for 3 days! SO in love with this magical device!

The photo shows the before and after just a few minutes apart….. you get an instant tightening, lifted/contoured look and feel. It’s very subtle in the cheeks but I can see and feel this difference instantly- My cheekbones look more contoured, my face is not as round and puffy, my pores look smaller, my skin just feels perkier and ready for the day!

This is a life saver being a mum with a newborn, constantly tackling tired skin and puffiness in the mornings from lack of sleep, I really needed this!

What does the NuFace Mini do?

It uses microcurrent technology to sculpt and lift your face. Reaching through skin layers to your face muscles- it’s basically a work out for your face!! Prevents the skin and muscles from loosing their elasticity and creates an over all lifted and contoured look!

Uses:

For me I use it in the AM for 5-6 minutes just after I’ve cleansed before any products, this works for me. I use this with the NuFace Gel Primer (like a conductor gel) which is also hydrating on its own too.

Recommended for:

anyone looking for a more contoured/firmer look, preventative ageing and reducing fine lines.

I have Combination /Oily and it works fine, I also have dry patches and have not noticed any irritation, in fact the Gel Primer actually hydrates my whole face- I leave it on to soak in afterwards.

Will I add this to my skin care routine? HELL YESS! I love using this little device and it doesn’t take up too much of my time, it literally feels like I’m getting a mini professional facial every morning!

PS: I specifically chose the NuFACE – Mini Mini Facial Toning Device which is the travel size version- more compact than the larger Trinity, this was a personal choice with having a baby and constantly on the go.

The larger NuFace Trinity still has the same microcurrent frequencies but it’s larger and you can change the head attachements which can have even more benefits and target specific areas of the face!

How I use it

– I start with a clean washed face – no makeup or residue, please.
– Then I use a mask like layer of the hydrating leave on gel primer on one section of my face
– I turn on the nuface mini and wait for it to beep
– Then I drag the mini in lifting motions across my face and wait for the beep until I repeat. Start gliding – upward motions, please, we’re lifting not dragging.
– I end up doing each section about three times (3 beeps), move to the next area. Your face is divided into sections like a pie – delicious, right?
– I run the nuface on either side of my cheeks, jaw, forehead and neck

I personally feel like I see immediate lifting which is why it motivates me to continue to use it. It also feels like a facial massage.

I looked at some older pictures and my face looks more defined, especially my jaw line and cheekbones as well as laugh lines around the mouth.

The Primer

I also want to talk about the primer. Unfortunately, I don’t think this works as a leave-on primer. It works fine with the device, it’s clear and a thick gel, and I find that you need kind of a lot of it.

I don’t think the ingredients are special at all and a bottle is just not worth 50$. Plus it pills badly throughout the day, even without makeup. I guess if you use it and wash it off after it works, but what’s the point of that.

I prefer to just use a hyaluronic acid or cosrx snail mucin which comes in a huge bottle and lasts forever. It works fine and you don’t feel any micro-currents plus they are much more affordable!

Q. Is the Nuface worth it?

A. I have been lusting after the Nuface for years. It’s been very highly recommended to me by some people with some beautiful skin and once I learned about microcurrent in esthetician school I was sold.

Q. How do you use it?

A. To use it you basically put on the primer (you can also use a serum or a jelly masks…it just needs to be wet to conduct the electricity) you start on the neck and work your way up to the forehead using horizontal motions. When you buy the device they provide you with some videos on how to use the device. You can actually feel in some spots the current grabbing the muscles and some spots HURT. Particularly on the side of the neck and near the hairline you can definitely tell there’s electricity passing through your face.

Q. So is it worth it?

A. I would say yes. In the picture above you can see the left side of my face is where I used the Nuface and the right side I had not. Although my skin isn’t particularly saggy you can definitely tell how it popped my cheek on the left side leaving it looking more supple and plump. The only thing is you need to be consistent about using it (I would say 3-4 times a week) to see lasting results and I am very lazy. So before investing just be honest with yourself about how often you’ll actually use it, but it definitely does do what it claims to do.

Q: Is it a pain to use?
A: Nope. It’s as easy as applying your favorite face mask, minus the scary movie villain look.

Q: NuFACE Mini or the full-size NuFACE?
A: If you’re always on the move, the Mini is your go-to. The full-size has more bells and whistles, but the Mini doesn’t skimp on results.
