Lancome is a French luxury skincare and makeup brand that offers a wide range of top notch products for various skin types and concerns. Here are some of the main skincare collections offered by Lancome. Let me run through the six main collections of Lancome skincare products and their differences, as well as the skin types and age ranges they’re suitable for. Hopefully this will save you from trial and error when it comes to buying Lancome skincare products.
Hydra Zen
First, there’s the Lancome hydration Game – Hydra Zen, which is a beginner-level line that focuses on basic hydration, as well as soothing the skin. It includes products such as moisturizer, eye cream, and serum, it’s formulated with hyaluronic acid and other ingredients that help to moisturize and plump the skin.
Do go for Hydra Zen Glow Liquid Moisturizer with Hyaluronic Acid if you want the extra level of hydration.
One of the most famous products in this line is the well-known Hydra Zen toner. The line is targeted at young consumers and the products are therefore built for their needs. The average price for a basic moisturizing skincare set in this series is around $100+.

Clarifique
The Lancome Clarifique series is specifically designed for oily skin. If you have oily skin, blackheads, closed comedones, issues with pores and rough skin, then the Clarifique series is a good choice for you. Everyone single product in this series is really good, whether it is the famous Lancome Clarifique toner, the Clarifique dual facial essence or the Clarifique lotion and cream.
Special mention about the Double face essence for exfoliation and hydration. The essence has a water-like consistency. My friend with oily skin find her pores smaller and skin brighter and more even after 3 weeks of day and night use! A bottle is large so will last a while. It’s great for anyone wanting to add gently daily exfoliation to their routine without compromising their barrier.
A reminder that any product in the Clarifique series is best suited for oily and mixed skin. Using this series has a visible effect on hydration, moisturizing and brightening.
Génifique
Up next is the well-known Génifique series, specifically the Advanced Génifique Youth Activating serum which is the best-selling product in the entire Lancome brand.
This collection is designed to help improve the overall appearance of the skin, including fine lines, wrinkles, and uneven skin tone. It includes products such as serums, creams, and eye creams that are formulated with Lancome’s exclusive Génifique complex, which is said to help support the skin’s natural ability to repair and renew itself.
What you need to now about the entire Génifique series, including the famous serum, as well as its face cream, and eye cream, is only suitable for young, mixed and oily skin under 30 years old.
The core ingredients of this series are not suitable for mature skin. If you are over 30 years old, read on and do not buy this series. And remember the Genefique serum is a base serum. Therefore, you can use it to layer below other serums before applying moisturizers and creams. The serum is really good at enhancing the absorption of the subsequent products.
Rénergie
Next is the Rénergie series, which is often compared to the Absolue and the Absolue L’Extract series, and is suitable for people over 30 years old with dry skin.
This collection is designed to help lift and firm the skin, and reduce the appearance of wrinkles. It includes products such as creams, serums, and masks that are formulated with Lancome’s exclusive Multi-Tension technology, which is said to help support the skin’s natural collagen and elastin production.
I feel the Lancome Rénergie series is the best bang for buck in the Lancome brand – there’s no need to always go for high-end series. The Rénergie products have exceeded the expectations for many people, and it has two functions – whitening and anti-aging. The face wash in this series is high quality as well, but the most famous product in this line is certainly the Lancome Rénergie Lift Multi-action Ultra cream, also known as Snow Cream, and the user experience is very good.
Absolue
While the Lancome Absolue series is hugely popular, you would want to do some research before buying it.
This collection is designed for mature skin and is said to help nourish, rejuvenate, and protect the skin. It includes products such as moisturizers, serums, and eye creams that are formulated with Lancome’s exclusive Pro-Xylane technology, which is said to help support the skin’s natural moisture levels.

With its primary ingredients such as rose gold, this series is suitable for people over 30, BUT, it is not suitable for those with oily skin, as it may cause breakouts. However, the facial toner, essence, and cream are all very effective, particularly the Absolue cream, which is a must-have for mature, dry skin women to fight against aging.
The Absolue eye cream and lotion have a relatively lower performance-cost ratio. For the same price, there are many other better options. It is undeniable that there is a premium added to the Lancome brand name. Ultimately, work with your budget to decide which product is right for you in this series vs other Lancome series or other brands altogether.
Absolue L’Extract
The Lancome Absolue L’Extract line is the highest-end line of the entire Lancome brand (available outside of North America). It has only four products- a serum (Elixir-Concentrate), a lotion mist, a day cream, an eye cream, and the set sets you back $2,000. They never advertise, but hordes of people still buy it regularly. If you have mixed skin that tends to lean towards dry, this is a great line for you. The Lancome L’Extract series can be seen as a super-upgraded version of the Absolue line. And the texture of the day cream is like silk. If you want to feel like a million bucks, the Lancome L’Extract line is truly a luxurious treat.
These are Lancome’s product lines to correspond to different skin types and different skincare needs. Don’t be afraid to change your products according to your current skin condition.
